It's a love it or hate it kind of place. The "Sin City" monikor is just the PR Marketing Machine at work. Vegas is also a place that you don't want to absorb for more than a few days at a time. It kind of wears you out if you do. But if you live here it's very different. How on earth did you go to Las Vegas to elope and end up being married by a minister from my hometown, Richmond, IN? Did you take him/her with you?

Isn’t Vegas beautiful? I remember when we lived in CA for two months some 35 years old (said that under my breath as I cleared my throat). My sister’s bedroom was the only one that had a clear view of the mountains. I would go in there and just stare out her window in awe. I came from Indiana, a mountain less state and that was all I knew. One day I was in a travel agency and they had a poster on the wall with nine pictures of destination spots. The poster had no words so I didn’t know where any of the spots were. However, I was drawn to one. I knew I wanted to go be in that place that was on that poster. I asked and it was Phoenix, AR. At that moment I believe I knew, I was born to be in that climate, in that area, experiencing that life. I am a mountain and warm weather girl. It ain’t for er’body! But it is for me!

I love Vegas! One day….

I eloped and married in Las Vegas!! It was wonderful. 26 yrs ago, I loved it. An intimate and private way to marry and honeymoon. The minister that performed the ceremony was from Richmond IN. I did slots and keno and won some nice money...yes, I did. Went with intentions to do just that. I made one other trip since then, I just don't handle the heat well. Don't know what I'd do if I could get up each morning and look at those gorgeous mountains. Everyone should go at least once....beautiful country. The devil was busy because I didn't have time to drop as much as a nickel in the slot machine (as Kathy put it). Unlike my sister, I had every intention on doing just that AND a co-worker gave me money to drop for her too. I told my father, I can't put God in a box......I don't know how he's going to pour out his blessings upon me! No, I'm playin......sort of :0) I LOVED Vegas! If I didn't have children, I would try to move there (I would have to talk my husband into it). It was BEAUTIFUL and peaceful. That's crazy to say Vegas is peaceful but it was. I plan on going back and spending more time instead of in and out for the weekend. p.s. Re: the pic.....we all happened to take black tops.
