Did You Just Slap My Child With Me Standing Right Here?

Happy Tuesday to you! I meant to talk about this last week when it was fresher but we can still talk about it today!

I believe in it taking a village to raise a child but a complete stranger coming up and slapping my 2 year old child four times because she is crying in Wal-Mart, is so far past sound, reasonable behavior, it’s not funny! Oh Jesus… Please help me Lord! I don’t even know what to say about this except, Lord Jesus. Only He (Jesus) would be able to stop the consequences and repercussions that would take place after everybody I know and loved found out. As far as my own daughter, if this had ever happened and her father found out, he would have been a one man force and gladly served time in jail in the name of protecting his one and only daughter.

Why would a 61 year old man feel the need to chastise a two year old little girl with her mamma right there with her? Yes, we have all been in Wal-Mart and on airplanes and in places of business where a crying/whining child got on our nerves and we wanted them quieted but… this is unbelievable! Below is the story, with his picture. Don’t he look a hot mess? Read the article and share your reactions. He’s gotta pay and pay dearly for his actions!

I would have been in jail right beside him! I don’t even have children, but I would not even let someone come up and slap a child that was with me for that matter. When I heard about this the first thing I wanted to know was what did the mother do? I would have SHUT WALMART DOWN!

  2. Kathy says:

    @Kelsey – I know that’s right!

  3. Things like this scare me. I have always hoped that I would never be put in a situation like this, or of having to protect my family. (excluding my ex)

I also worry because I travel into the city and worry that I might have to hurt someone black and I don’t want to be called a racist if I defend myself. I have a C.C. P. for self protection and carry a 9mm Glock.

My biggest fear is that I might have to use it. Well maybe my biggest fear is that I won’t be able to get it out.

  4. Kathy says:

@Charles Davis Jr – Hello Charles. You are not black? Hmmm….for some reason (smile) I knew you were black. I DO know you Charles :o ) What is C.C.P and 9mm Glock?

  5. Concealed carry permit. 9mm is the size of the bullit. Glock is the name of the pistol It’s semi automatic and holds 18 rounds. A lot of us are now armed because we have to travel the subways thru some bad areas. Have you ever been to New York or rode the NYTS?

The name is probably more common among blacks that whites. You are not the first to assume it is a black name. Not sure about the, you know me part. Do you mean you know how I feel or that you know a black Charles Davis Jr?

We are from the east coast. I posted my URL http://www.charlesdavis.org

Have you purchased one of my paintings? I am doing a small show in Jersey in 2 weeks. Is anyone here from NY/NJ?

  6. Kathy says:

@Charles Davis Jr – hmmm…. I thought I knew you, guess I don’t. Other than the site you gave, that is under construction, where can I go and look at your paintings?

  7. I’m just a local starving artist…

  8. Kathy says:

Oh yea. What kind of work do you do?

  9. I work for an upscale grocery chain.

  10. Kathy says:

No, I meant what kind of art work do you do?

  11. I’ve messed around with charcoals, but it’s not my passion. The oil or water based woodlands, floral and nature are my favs, though I can do animal and humans. Oils endure the elements better and look sharper.

  12. Kathy says:

@Charles Davis Jr – where might one buy a piece of your work?

  13. I sell on the streets of NY. Pretty well known locally. The Wall Street and trades areas are my primary spots. During the days I run a grocery store. Cost of living is pretty high and I’m not from a wealthy family. Have you ever been to NY? It is a very busy city. Rush rush rush. The is so much to do and see here. There are people from every country in the world here because we are the economic center of the world.

  14. Kathy says:

Yes, I have been to NY. Loved it! Don’t want to live there but I do enjoy coming and seeing the sites. I have been threatening to come again for a visit. When I do, I will be sure to let you know and maybe I can buy groceries or a painting from you!

  15. CHARLES DAVIS JR says:

I don’t own the company just run the store. (upscale groceries)

You might want to try the sidewalk vendors for a cooked meal. they offer some great choices. If you want to come I can probably do that.
